Umbrella Man

He reminded me of Roald Dahl’s short story – The Umbrella Man’. Its about this old guy who trades stolen umbrellas for cash from people who get caught in the rain without an umbrella. He tells them that he needs the cash to take a cab back home as his old legs are very tired to walk. But instead of going home, he goes to a local pub and buys drinks from that money. The story ends when a mother & daughter duo figure out his modus operandi and the mother says, “But I’ll bet he prays like mad for rainy days.”
